This is from the "Grand Final" of 1981, a contest between all the winning teams in that year's domestic series. Here, the girl had to stay balanced on the float, while it was rotated from side to side by opposing teams pulling on ropes. To make it harder, she was getting soaked by a jet of water from the float! Even before she might have been tipped into the pool! Whoever devised these games must have liked thinking of more and more different ways to get the ladies wet!
This was the "marathon" from a show involving a team from Ely, in about 1974. The girls played pillow fighting about six times between the other games. I wonder if they put dry kit on while they waited between rounds!
Love the way her swimsuit shows through her dress! Generally, Knockout was best when it was cheap and cheerful, with buckets, hoses, a small pool, and lots of t-shirts and shorts. In the last series, the budget must have increased, which may have given the BBC the excuse to drop it.
This was BBC "Knockout!" from what was, I think, the final domestic series in 1982. They brought in a lot of animal costumes, full-body costumes, and fancy dress. Which pretty well spoiled the wetlook, but I do like this particular dress.
In the very early days of, "Knockout" on BBC in the black and white days of the '60s, they had "Piano smashing!" contests. The ladies used to wear games skirts then, rather than shorts, which looked great in the water!
Another shot from the "It's a Celebrity Knockout" event. I think that the actress was very well aware of the wet t-shirt opportunity and she did not disappoint.
This picture is from the, "It's a Celebrity Knockout" event, which took place in Florida in about 1989. It was a bit different from the earlier BBC contests, being a bit more, "Showbizzy" and involving actresses and personalities, rather than members of the public. It's available to see on YT.
This has to be the best episode of Wild Things! She was so "deserving" of the treatment from the boars bum. Poor squirrel was in so much trouble for not remembering their wedding song by Ed Sheeran lol :D
