Hint for small pools: if there is elecricity nearby, submerged pump + long dark garden hose laid on ground and back to pool, on sunny day it warms water quite efficiently. I have had also a couple of black roofing sheet on ground and garden hose back and forth over those sheets. Kind of DIY solar panel heating.
