Natalie, in a dress, leads the way. cali, in denim shorts and a tee shirt is more timid, but comes to the 'rescue' later in the scene. After getting themselves mired in the black ooze, Cali manages to escape. She tries to reach back for Natalie with her tee shirt, but it's too short. So, the dress is used instead.
