Had to start off my move to Wisconsin with some mud before the season is out. Found a spot with some really great deep and thick mud. Didn't get to play all that long and didn't go full coverage as cleanup water wasn't ideal and the place is a little too visible from an elevated road for my comfort level. Still was good to get in the mud for only the second time this year.

What a great play area!! Quarries do have some of the best mud.... but gotta be so careful you don't get caught!! It definitely is a huge adrenaline rush

Also, I will say that if you are willing to risk visiting a quarry (vs some area on public land), it's not hard to find potential spots. The spot in Wisconsin I found literally two days after moving here. And I'm not using any wizardry. Just looking over the Google Maps tool right on google.com with the satellite view until I find a quarry with what looks like settling ponds, then make a trip to check it out. You just have to be willing to make the effort.

I have a spot I've gone to 5x so far this summer since I found it. Mud is close to knee deep but not quite as deep as this

It's not that it's so rare or I want to keep it to myself or such. The main reason is that quarry locations are private property and the more people visit them and leave any evidence of such, the greater the chance the quarry might tighten their security, so a site as such really can't handle like a dozen people visiting it often. Could it handle a couple more? Probably, but then I'd have to pick and choose who I share with an I don't want to play favorites, so I just blanket don't share.

Very wise Columbusmud! Finding these kinds of opportunities are rare so I keep clothed, bucket, towels ans plastic for when I accidentally find something to dive into!
