This is my first time out in the mud for a while, and while it's less spectacular than I was hoping, it's always worth doing. This spot has been dependable in the past, but a lot of trees have fallen in the winter storms and the mud pools I can get to are less impressive than they used to be. I start off in the shade of a fallen tree, smearing mud onto my naked body. Then I find a boggy pool to stir up and have a wallow around in. It was a little colder than I was hoping too, so I didn't stay as long as I might. But it's not a bad start to the season!
