So it has been more than 10 years since I built my first gunge tank. Since then I've got older, fatter and wiser. As the years went on I kept putting a whole bunch f ideas together into a design for the Ultimate Gunge Tank (u.g.t.) mwha ha ha ha ha.







This however is not that tank, alas that tank must wait until I have the space to store and use it (one can't permanently store a gunge tank of that size in a small London flat now). But with my parents wanting someone to dog/house sit whilst they are caravaning I had the opportunity to spend a prolonged period with my old workstation and tools... So I thought I might prototype a couple of the ideas I had for the u.g.t.







But then I thought if I'm going to go to the trouble to test a variety of release mechanisms then why not mock together a cheap frame that can be easily assembled and disassembled so that it might be possible to store it in the flat and could either be used in the flat or chucked in the car to take and use at any possible messy meet ups...







And so this is this tank. Part prototype for another tank design, part mobile gunge tank. This video shows the first tests of various modes/features using water (because leak proofing water is a much bigger arse pain) instead of gunge.







Mode 1: Regular Stream--Pull the chain to release a single stream of gunge (water in the test).







Mode 2: Shower Mode--Pull the chain to release a shower of gunge (water in the test).







Mode 3: Wait for it... --This tank won't release its entire tank until the gunge level (water level in the test) reaches a certain level in the tank. It's a long wait as the gunge pump (water hose in test) slowly fills the tank up to release level to trigger the long, slow stream of gunge/water. I don't know about you but an agonising wait and a slow trickling gunging... part of me thinks this mode should be accompanied by a bit of bondage...







Not part of this video but in the coming days I hope to be able to test out the following:







1. Howzplat! Mode--Triggering either the normal stream or shower stream whenever the bails are knocked off some cricket stumps. Essential a variation on the usual hit target to trigger dunk tank mechanic (could easily be added here by extending target arm down from top bar) but wanted to try something different. update: Howzplats! mode test was mostly successful. Will stick more weight to bails to be make trigger more reliable.





2. Testing the three previous modes with gunge (I have victim to be test it with in the coming days but before anyone asks there won't be any public footage of these tests.)







3. Once I'm back in London I'm hoping to see if I can hook up an Arduino and servo motor so to be able to trigger Normal Stream or Shower Mode with a command receive over the internet.
