I was a long time UMD and Splosh Forum member returning after a couple of years away.
My main interest is when slapstick is performed in front of an audience such as circus clown and pantomime 'slosh routines'. To be achieved well, there are many contributing elements including: script, rehearsal, costumes, make-up, and of course lots of custard pies and buckets of paste.
For me, a well-performed slosh routine is an art form, but one that appears unfortunately to be dying out. Perhaps too much hassle to stage, too costly, too many health and safety issues. I myself used to perform as a circus clown as well as in pantomimes as the comic or dame. I specialised in the slosh routine and tried to include female stooges whenever possible.
More recently I have scripted routines although they are rarely carried out as written. AI now provides an opportunity to try and recreate those routines and although it can be frustrating, some of the results are encouraging (my avatar is my attempt of recreating what I used to look like when performing).
I apologise for having a very stereotypical view of what a female circus or pantomime stooge should ideally look like, but I definitely like the actress to be at least mid-40s, and you will see that I prefer that they wear short frilly tutus or French maid costumes.
