I fell deeply in love with fully dressed wetlook at the height of puberty, so it's hard-wired into who I am.
I saw Beautiful Pamela Austin in a commercial for the 1966 Dodge Dart in which she pulled the inflator ring on a life raft and feel off a dock into the water. At the end of the commercial we cut to the side of the floating life raft as Pamela surfces with her pretty hair all wet, smiling and pointing to the camera, cheering "The Dodge Rebellion wants You!"
On a special program of The Lawrence Welk show in 1965, I saw Barbara and Bobby, dressed in 1900 swimwear, sing and dance "Honeybun" from "South Pacific" at the side of a swimming pool. Upon singing the last note, they tumbled backwards into the pool with Barbara giving out a squeal of pure joy.
The videotape is reversed, as they "un-fall" back up out of the pool, now all dripping wet as Bobby bows and Barbara curtsies before they both "Fall" back into the water, again with her loud delighted squeal.
These are just two most memorable TV moments I remember from my teenage years, as I fell helplessly in love with th e sight of couples and/or women playfully getting all wet fully clothed.
In later years, I found myself running into the water at lake beaches with clothes on. Eventually, I felt that the more formal or dressy the clothes, the further that was from expected swimwear and the better I felt.
I added singing to my dressy-dipping experience, because singing and swimming fully dressed are both extremely beautiful sensations.
The smiles I get when I dive fully dressed into the water and come up singing out loud at Lake Olathe Beach are Priceless!
