I bought their replacement a little while back... similar, all black, I think a higher heel (but not by all that much). We'll have to see if they perform better or worse!
I didn't even mention trying not to show a limp as I walked under the buzzards... it would have freaked me out if they decided to follow me to see if I was injured enough to keel over and be their next meal! Yoikes! x-D
It *mostly* came off a step or two before I got out of the river after "cleaning up". I walked about a quarter mile through the mud, the drier bank, woods, and a bit of the trail before I got to a bench where I could sit. I undid a few eyelets worth of the (mostly non-functional) laces, then tied them under the boot so the sole would *mostly* stay in place.
Yes! That pic is so simple, so hot! And if you look carefully, you can see some shiny down in there... it flooded and soaked into my... ahem, *slightly* abused boot!
One of the first days in My River had a pair of leggings (with corsetted back of calves), but I didn't find any surface mud that day. I've been really enjoying the pleather leggings, and wearing that pair over and over (plus the red pair only the one time) - not Nike, but definitely with the softness and stretchiness!
This spot where I'm sitting was about 20-30' from the spot where my friend was standing when she took the pic 02-0 in the My River album. And I was another 20-30' closer to the river (and still very much on dry land. :D
I don't own (and am not a fan of) rubber boots (although I love plenty of clips with them!) These boots are still mud encrusted from this outing, so I'll have to see what state they're in once I clean them up. BUT... BUTT... I do have another pair of heeled hiking boots waiting in the wings. And these leggings haven't fallen apart yet (the red pair from one of the My River sets did fall apart, and I noticed earlier today that the black pleather pair that's identical to these is starting to fail (and it's never done wam!) So there's going to be more leggings on their way for when these fail!
I will definitely get back to my river! Whether that means I have surface mud to play with is entirely up to the wind, rain, river, and soil to decide!
The top did get a lot on it, particularly the bottom half, even where I didn't realize I got myself. My goal was to get as close to 100% coverage on the leggings. Which *might* have been possible if I could see what I was doing! x-D
