my bf and I sketched it out about 3 years before I got it. It's "Maa Durga" who, in Hindu lore, was created by Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu, to be an all-powerful, invincible goddess of war. She was given all the power of the gods before her so, basically, it's a symbol of femininity and strength (I feel like a dork explaining it lol)

If by "darker" you mean "scary" or something, it was just that one part that looked that way haha. We tried push-pins (we're the only house on EARTH without sewing needles...) so we had to improvise and found an exacto blade from our art supplies... BUT if you mean dark as in exposure, then that's another story ^_^
How's about a ring gag or a ball gag?? (I have trouble finding them that will tighten enough... Boo...) But this was an impromptu bondage session... We were all out of jute twine (our painful rope of choice... leaves a lot of abrasions hehe)

yeah the guy we got it from hand-makes them in Nashville. He started off as an electrician for a living but then started crafting his own light products. His particular light is totally different from traditional beauty rings and whatnot --the color temperature is just perfect ALL THE TIME. It has seriously made any other bit of lighting equipment I own obsolete because it's so convenient.
