Ari and Ivy's quiz game had started off innocently enough, with the two friends eager to test their knowledge against one another. As the quiz persisted, Ari couldn't help but feel like something was off--every answer that Ivy gave seemed to be miraculously correct, while Ari struggled with question after question and every time Ari lost a round, her friend insisted that she enact another messy forfeit.
Nevertheless, she plunged on, eager to give it her best shot, even as piles of custard, cream, beans, rice pudding, purple gunge, spaghetti hoops, soup, ice cream, and even a pie in the face made her look like an abstract masterpiece. It's clear to Ari that she's being treated unfairly, but Ivy seems immune to any sense of guilt or remorse. As the game draws to a close, her frustration reaches boiling point, and she wonders why she even agreed to play in the first place.
Despite the messy conclusion, however, Ari remained gracious in defeat, taking the loss with good humor and playfully vowing that she'd be back to beat Ivy again.
